FAQs
It's best to wear loose, comfortable clothing. Reflexology and reiki are treatments that are fully clothed. Just shoes and socks will need to be removed for your reflexology treatment, I'll only need access to your feet and ankles, and sometimes your calves for reflexology.
For hygiene purposes, please have clean feet for your reflexology appointment. Please do not attend a reflexology or reiki treatment if you have any fungal infections, contagious skin conditions or you have a fever/flu-like symptoms or are feeling unwell.

If you have any access requirements, please contact me before booking to discuss. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an parent/guardian at all times during the treatment.
Your first appointment is 75 minutes to allow time for an initial consultation development of a treatment plan (or focus for your reiki if you have one).
Subsequent appointments are 60 minutes. At the start of your appointment we'll briefly discuss your current wellbeing and health and identify your treatment focus. At the end of the session there is time to discuss any potential imbalances and aftercare advice.
Reflexology is a non-invasive holistic therapy involving gentle application of pressure to reflexes (specific points) on the feet. Where there is congestion or an imbalance in the body, the corresponding reflex on the feet or hands may feel sensitive or tender, however it should not feel painful. The pressure and techniques used to work the reflexes means that it does not tickle.
Reflexology can be booked as an individual treatment for relaxation. A one-off treatment can help you to you feel more relaxed and more calm.
If you are wishing to focus on specific health or wellness priorities and you'd like to gain longer term benefits we can discuss a course of treatments at your first or any subsequent appointments. My "I am Balanced" package of 4 x 60 minute treatments can be booked as a one-off course or on a repeat basis if you would like to benefit from a course of treatments or if you'd like to have treatments on an ongoing basis.
Reflexology can be enjoyed regularly to support deep relaxation and calm. It is a safe, non-invasive and gentle holistic therapy that can be incorporated into wellbeing routines as part of your personal strategies for supporting relaxation.
Some clients choose to have treatments every 4 to 8 weeks on a regular or ongoing basis either booked as individual treatments or as a package of 4 x 60 minute treatments.
Yes, the following health conditions are contra-indications for reflexology and would mean that it is not currently suitable for you:
deep-vein thrombosis (DVT);
pulmonary embolism;
acute undiagnosed pain;
fungal infections on the feet;
contagious or notifiable diseases;
recent or current fever or flu-like symptoms, including diarrhoea or vomiting; unhealed fractures or recent haemorrhage;
organ transplants;
heart conditions that are not currently stable.
If you are undergoing medical treatment for cancer please consult with your doctor or specialist prior to booking your reflexology appointment.
You will feel relaxed and calm after your reflexology or reiki treatment. With this in mind, I recommend that you plan some time for pacing yourself and taking things easy afterwards. Drinking plenty of water, avoiding stimulants such as caffeine, alcohol and avoiding high impact exercise ideally for the first 24-48 hours after your treatment is also recommended.
Initial treatments can invite a healing response while the body focuses on re-balancing and eliminating toxins. You may initially feel more emotional, tired, need the loo more often than usual or have a headache. This is a normal response but if you are concerned about how you feel afterwards please contact me.
No, reflexology, reiki and health coaching do not diagnose, treat or cure specific health conditions. They do not replace medical advice or treatment provided by your GP, consultant/specialist or other health professionals on your healthcare team. Reflexology, reiki and health coaching can provide complementary support.
Yes, I do. My cancellation policy means that appointments are non-refundable, however where a minimum of 24 hours notice is given appointments may be rescheduled. Late cancellations (within 24 hours of your appointment time) will be charged in full.
